“Community of Volunteers“

Project duration: 1st of August 2025 – 31st of December 2026

Donor: UNICEF

Applicant: Local Democracy Agency Mostar

Budget: 129,663 BAM

Project coordinator: Maja Vejzović-Voloder, maja@ldamostar.org

Through Project Project “A more Equitable Society: Promoting Social Cohesion and Diversity in Bosnia and Herzegovina” – Dialogue for Future 3 (DFF3)  implemented by three UN agencies UNDP, UNESCO, and UNICEF, LDA Mostar is implementing activities under programme the “Community of Volunteers“  to strengthen youth civic engagement across 10 municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Bosanska Krupa, Doboj, Glamoč, Gornji Vakuf–Uskoplje, Milići, Mostar, Stolac, Teslić, Tuzla, and Zvornik).

Inclusive Youth Dialogue Groups (YDGs) will enable adolescents to identify community challenges, co-design initiatives, and collaborate with Local Dialogue Platforms (LDPs). The programme will train 100 young people (50% girls, including Roma, rural youth, and NEETs) in leadership, advocacy, public speaking, and intercultural dialogue, reaching up to 8,000 indirect beneficiaries.

A three-stage civic PAR metodology (present, revise, apply), mentorship through a Leadership Academy, and peer-to-peer guidance will foster responsibility, resilience, and social cohesion. Storytelling, digital platforms, and volunteer-led community events will amplify youth voices, promote positive role models, and encourage intergenerational dialogue.

Volunteer actions in education, culture, and environment will be rooted in partnerships with CSOs, schools, and municipal bodies, supported by in kind subgranteng scheeme to ensure long-term relevance. Through this initiative, youth will become empowered changemakers, building inclusive and supportive civic environments across their communities.

During project implementation LDA Mostar will comply with UNICEF’s communication, safeguarding, and environmental standards.

Dialogue for the future 3 (DFF3) is funded by the United Nations Secretary General’s Peacebuilding Fund (PBF).
